I have frequently noted in studying well-documented reincarnation cases, that transiting Saturn is in hard contact with the natal North Node (conjunct, square or opposed) when a past life memory emerges — either consciously or subconsciously.

The Case of Margaret Kempthorne and Gladys Deacon

Gladys Deacon was born on January 25, 1900 in Leicestershire, England (birth time unknown). As a young child she had a phobia of falling down, and a fondness for the name Margaret.

At age 11 while on a family Christmas trip to visit Dorset (in December 1911, a place she had never been before), Gladys found the area extremely familiar. She told her brother, ‘When I was quite a little girl I lived in a house near here. I remember running down a hill in that field with two grown-ups holding my hands and we all fell down and I hurt my leg badly.” She even described the clothes in detail that they had been wearing. She said as well, “My name was Margaret then.”

Encapsulating this Christmas time period are two very important Solar Arcs involving the natal North Node: SA Venus was square the North Node (May 2011) and SA Jupiter was conjunct the North Node (April 1912).

It wasn’t until 17 years later in 1928 when Gladys was 28 years old with transiting Saturn conjunct her natal North Node that she was able to validate her past life recollection as a young girl.

In 1928, while Gladys was traveling with her employer through Dorset, they encountered a flat tire, and stopped at a cottage for tea. Gladys saw an old portrait hanging on the wall and realized to her amazement that she recognized herself in the portrait as a young child running down the same hill. In this portrait, the young girl was wearing the exact clothing that Gladys saw in her past life memories when she was 11 years old.

She learned from a woman at the cottage that the young girl in the portrait was Margaret Kempthorne who at the age of 5 had fallen down the hill, broken her leg and never recovered. She died two months later.

Margaret Kempthorne was born as well on the same date, January 25th, in 1830 and died on October 11, 1835. Gladys was born 65 years after Margaret died.

Here are a few fascinating case examples for study:

The Case of John Elliotson and Dr. Norm Shealy

Dr. Norm Shealy, a world famous neurosurgeon, inventor, writer and specialist in pain management, was born on December 4, 1932 in Columbia, South Carolina (birth time unknown).

In January 1972, at age 39, while attending a lecture at the Neuroelectric Society in Aspen, Colorado, he learned about his past life as John Elliotson, a 19th century British physician who was also a medical trendsetter and pain specialist (Elliotson was born October 24, 1791 in Southwark, London; birth time unknown; he died July 29, 1868).

When Shealy heard the lecturer Dr. William Kroger say, “In the last century a British physician demonstrated that you could operate on patients who were mesmerized. His name was John Elliotson,” Shealy said he felt as if someone had thrust an iceberg down his back and said to himself, “My God, that’s me.”

Immediately after, Shealy contacted a medical librarian to learn about John Elliotson but no information could be found. Hence in June 1972, Dr. Shealy traveled to London to research Elliotson’s life.

Upon his arrival, he was intuitively guided with the same “iceberg down his back” sensation to the University College Hospital of London where his office had been as John Elliotson. Shealy said that as soon as he walked into the building he felt at home. Transiting Saturn was square the natal North Node in June 1972.

Similarities in both lives highlight the reoccurrence of transiting Saturn to Shealy’s natal North Node:

John Elliotson had striking black curly hair and walked with a congenital limp. He was also the first physician in London who did away with wearing knickers.

Around the age of 4 or 5, Norm Shealy wanted black curly hair so badly that he cut off a lock of his aunt’s black hair. At that same age he also declared he was going to be a physician.

At age 9, Shealy refused to wear knickers and said he threw temper tantrums in rebellion. He also fractured his right tibia bone, which led to an infection. That’s when he was told that he would always walk with a limp. At age 9, transiting Saturn was square the natal North Node.

At age 16, Shealy dyed his hair black when he went off to college. He also said that this age was when he always thought he was going to be a neurosurgeon. At age 16, transiting Saturn was opposed the natal North Node.

John Elliotson graduated medical school at age 19. Norm Shealy entered medical school at age 19. Shealy went on to teach at Harvard and became a world renowned pain specialist, duplicating the professional direction of John Elliotson.
